presentation at the Corlaer College in Nijkerk (Netherlands)
16 September 2011
The Corlaer College in Nijkerk (Netherlands), a secondary school, is known for its so called
'Expedition Corlaer'. In this expedition the students collect, guided by two coaches, in many different ways knowledge and money for a good cause.
Besides that, the group will visit the chosen goal, to work on the spot or hand over the result of their efforts personnally. Also then can experience for themselves the living conditions of the young people there. Each year there are five expeditions. This year one of the groups has chosen to go on an expedition to Tanzania, to try and help the Oltinga secondary school in Selela. The goal is to realize a solar panel and some computers at the school.

wine-taste-dinner in restaurant t-rex in putten
Guests of the 'wine-taste-dinner' listen attentive to the wine expert
15 September 2011
In restaurant T-Rex in Putten (Netherlands) the 'starting shot' is
fired for an campaign year together with the Wilde Ganzen foundation (see also Campaign primary school 2011-2012). This happens with a so called 'wine-taste-dinner': a combination of tasting several wines, alternated with the courses of a dinner.
Wine expert Nel Minkjan, also from Putten, shares her knowledge about the wines in a very intelligible way.
Because both the restaurant and the wine expert co-operate selfless and the supplier of the wine, Schermer, sells the wine with a discount, the proceeds of the evening were very good: about € 700. The start of the campaign also turnes out to be a motivation for many more donations.

donation by martin verwaal
Martin receives the donation from his sister and mother
2 July 2011
Cousin Martin Verwaal celebrates his 50th birthday with a party. Instead of presents, he asks for
donations for the foundation: € 600 is the marvellous result!
Because of his affinity to electrical engineering and solar energy (his specialism as professor at the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands) the money will be
used for the installation of a solar system to provide the dispensary in Selela with electricity. If necessary for a full-fledged system, Martin is willing to add the extra money from his own pocket.

Students from Dame Alice Owen's School visiting Oltinga secondary school
6 June 2011
The head of Biology at Dame Alice Owen’s School from London contacts our foundation. In 2008 and 2010 she visited the Oltinga secondary school in Selela herself, together with a group of 20 students. They would like to do something to help this school and
for that reason spent a year fundraising. The students organized very different activities like skydiving, raffles, bag packing at supermarkets, organising music concerts, bike riding, cake sales et cetera.
The Dame Alice Owen’s School donates no less than € 2,000 ! This money is especially meant to finish and furnish the 10th classroom of the Oltinga school, which is under construction and will be used for practical science classes: biology, chemistry and physics.
